This season is based on the Thunderbolts team, which is composed of villains trying to/forced into using their abilities for good, similar to DC’s Suicide Squad. This is my first key art chosen for use by the Marvel SNAP team, based on my pitch for a starting design direction that was approved by the client.
From there, the entire design team worked together to refine the character composition and create a background that would blend well with the character art by Viktor Farro. We came up with a smokey sky and ground covered in rubble, a battlefield befitting the reformed supervillains.

This season coincided with the theatrical release of Marvel Studios ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’. I had a lot of fun illustrating the idea of Deadpool’s fourth wall breaking by having him and the other characters exploding through a piece of paper covered in his crayon drawings (which were actually all drawn by me). I included stickers to feature more characters, and the design team wished to add more elements to tie the chaotic concept together, like the coffee ring stain, ketchup & mustard stains, and a paper clip.
This design was made as more of an alternative key art to the one the client preferred, but it was used heavily in their other marketing assets. It was pitched with the idea of doing a Deadpool takeover of the game, which the client liked and evolved into a concept for a new limited-time mode of the game called ‘Deadpool’s Diner’, which also used messy and humorous crayon drawings and scribbles for its branding.

This season is based on a Marvel comics arc where Norman Osborn aka the Green Goblin is given command of S.H.I.E.L.D. and reforms it into a new corrupt organization called H.A.M.M.E.R., which proceeds to replace the Avengers with villains assuming the roles of its former members. Osborn himself takes the mantle of Iron Patriot while Bullseye becomes Hawkeye, Moonstone becomes Ms. Marvel, Daken becomes Wolverine, etc.
After a first round of proposed designs, the client came up with a new direction they liked, which was the idea of a bulletin board covered in photos of this season’s characters, much like a detective’s investigation board, showing connections using pins and red string, except in this case it would be Osborn figuring out his new Avengers lineup. My execution of this concept, which used a hanging lamp to create dim lighting in a hidden room of an abandoned building, was chosen by the client.

This season is based on the Marvel Studios animated series ‘What If…?’, telling episodic tales of alternate universes where characters from other Marvel Studios movies and shows take different, unexpected paths in their stories, and often assume heroic or villainous roles where they didn’t before, based on the new decisions they make or the new circumstances they are placed in.
Having previously watched the show before starting work on the design, I knew the tall, imposing silhouette of the Watcher with his glowing eyes was a prominent image throughout the series. I used art of the Watcher silhouette from a provided card back asset and built a composition with him as the central figure, overseeing the other characters as they shatter the barriers between realities.

This was my proposed key art for the Loki For All Time season, which coincided with the streaming release of season 2 of Marvel Studios ‘Loki’. The client chose another design to use for their key art, but they liked this one as well and wanted to use it for online advertisements.
I had a lot of fun designing the Time Variance Authority recruitment/propaganda posters as well as the variant wanted poster. The background and foreground elements tie the scene together to recreate a corner of the TVA offices.

This was my proposed key art for The Celestials' Finest season, based on Marvel Studios ‘Eternals’. The client chose another key art design to use for this season, but they liked the foreboding look of the central character Arishem. They asked if we could make a similar design to use as homepage headers for their social media sites, which I was happy to design for them.

These are the rest of the proposed key arts I made for past Marvel SNAP seasons. Even though they weren’t chosen for use by the client, I believe they were all strong contenders and are worthy of inclusion in this portfolio entry.

This is my first spotlight design chosen for use by the Marvel SNAP team, for the Bloodstone season. This design was used as a template for the all other character and location spotlights for this season.
This was a Halloween-themed season about monsters and monster hunters, so I opted for a vintage horror movie vibe with a piece of film strip for the type container and two pieces of a torn movie poster for the borders, as well a sharp toothed mouth-like opening for the character container.

This spotlight was made for the Black Order season and used as a template for the rest of the spotlight designs for the season.
This season was themed around Thanos and his minions, and the design was inspired by the season’s key art, which used gold geometric lines and a dark planet in the background. The client preferred the borders from my coworker's proposed design, so we placed it in mine and the spotlight was approved by the Marvel SNAP team.

For this design, I went in an action-oriented direction, drawing speed lines for the borders and a blast shape for the character container. The client preferred the type lockup from my coworker’s proposed design, so we placed it in mine and the spotlight was approved by the Marvel SNAP team.

This spotlight was made for A Blink In Time season and used as a template for the rest of the spotlight designs for the season.
This season was based on the Exiles comics from Marvel, and is themed around Blink, the leader of a team of alternate versions of Marvel characters that hop around different realities using Blink's portals to save the multiverse. I used one of the portals I created for my proposed design for this season's key art as the character container, and I really like how it turned out. The type lockup is one of my favorites as well.

This spotlight was made for the Maximum Effort season and used as a template for the rest of the spotlight designs for that season.
This season coincided with the theatrical release of Marvel Studios 'Deadpool & Wolverine', and I was excited to use my illustrative skills to create more of Deadpool's doodles, and create a spotlight design much like the alternative key art I previously made for this season. It was a lot of fun creating unique hand-drawn type lockups for each character and location, as well as a unique set of doodles themed around each character.
